Our neighborhood swim team, The Banbury Woods Dolphins, is affiliated with the Tarheel Swimming Association. Our 10-week swim season begins in mid-May and ends in late July with our end-of-season party and awards. All kids between the ages of 3 ½ and 18 (as of June 1) are welcome! Youngest and least experienced swimmers join as Junior Dolphins; all others swim as Dolphins in the following age groups: 6 & under, 7/8s, 9/10s, 11/12s, 13/14s, 15 & ups. Practices are Monday through Thursday afternoons and swim meets begin in June on Tuesday evenings. In addition, we host a number of fun social events throughout the season for swimmers and families. The swim team is a wonderful way for kids to improve their swimming skills, learn the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship, and make new friends. What to Expect During Swim Season
- The 2024 swim season begins on Monday, May 13th and ends on Tuesday, July 16th.
- Practices run from 4:00-7:30pm Monday through Thursdays.
- A lane will always be provided for neighbors during practices and the shallow end is always available. Please ask the coach staff and you will be accommodated.
- Occasionally a Friday practice may occur if practices have been rained out for a good portion of the week.
- The pool will be closed at 4pm for swim meets on only four Tuesdays throughout the entire summer (June 4th, June 11th, June 18th, and July 9th).
